Christmas Comes Early For Bampton Care Home Residents

christmasSounds of jingling bells and classic carols rang through the village of Bampton this week when Rosebank Care Home celebrated Christmas Day over three months early.

Residents chose the themed meal of the month to be Christmas, and staff pulled out all the stops to make it a truly magical day.

Rooms were transferred into a winter wonderland with tinsel, snowmen and a Christmas tree, as well as a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings served for all to enjoy.

Santa paid a special visit to every resident before joining the home’s Rosebud choir for a traditional choir service. In true Christmas style, the day was finished with some classic festive movies.

Residents commented: “It’s my birthday on Christmas Day, so does that mean I have two birthdays this year?” and “I love Christmas, it has been really nice to enjoy Christmas more than once this year.”

Lifestyle support co-ordinator, Mandie Acock, said: “When the residents chose the theme of Christmas for their meal we were all very excited. Christmas only comes around once a year, and we have been able to celebrate it twice.”
