Christchurch Care Home Celebrates Summer Fayre Success
Staff and residents at Care South’s Queensmead residential home in Christchurch are celebrating after their annual Summer Fayre raised over £1,000 for their residents’ Amenity Fund.
Held in the home’s beautiful gardens, residents were joined by their families, friends and the local community to celebrate the last of the summer. The staff put on a range of traditional fayre games and stalls for visitors to browse, including a raffle, tombola and bric-a-brac. Residents ran a craft stall selling hand-made decorations and craft items that they had made in preparation for the fayre.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the delicious home-made cakes and barbeque on offer throughout the afternoon, whilst younger guests were entertained by a range of children’s games, face painting and a bouncy castle. Musical entertainment delighted visitors with a medley of classic and well-loved summertime songs, which everyone enjoyed tremendously.
Emma Cotton, Home Manager at Care South’s Queensmead, said: “Residents and Care South staff had a brilliant day at this year’s summer fayre! We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who visited us and helped make the day so special. The fantastic amount raised will to the Residents’ Amenity Fund, which will enable us to continue to provide trips as well as lots of stimulating and varied activities in the run up to Christmas.”
