Interim Chief Inspector of Mental Health, Chris Dzikiti will leave CQC at the end of June to take up a new post of Executive Director, Professional Practice at the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Chris has been with CQC since October 2022 when he joined as Director of Mental Health. During his time at the Commission, Chris has held positions of Interim Chief Inspector of Healthcare and Executive Director for Operations.
We will share more on arrangements for covering the Interim Chief Inspector of Mental Health role shortly.
Chris Dzikiti said: “As I step away from my role at the end of June, I want to thank colleagues across CQC for the privilege of working alongside such committed, values driven people.
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work at CQC, and for the support and commitment of colleagues across the organisation. It has been an honour to serve first as Director of Mental Health, followed by Chief Inspector of Healthcare, Executive Director of Operations and finally Interim Chief Inspector of Mental Health.
“I will leave with deep respect for colleagues across CQC who show up every day with integrity, humanity, and a shared commitment to improving health and social care. I will miss working alongside you all and carry this experience with me with pride, as I look ahead to the next chapter and to joining the NMC as Executive Director, Professional Practice”.
Dr Arun Chopra, Interim CEO said: “I want to thank Chris for all his contributions at CQC over the years.
“He has been instrumental in ensuring we have a strong focus on mental health services in our work, making sure we focus on what’s important for patients and people who use services.
“He’ll be a massive loss to CQC and we will miss him but I know he’ll have a huge impact at NMC helping ensure excellence across the profession.”
