Chippenham Care Home Hosts Community Bake Off Competition

Cepen Lodge Care Home in Chippenham invited local professionals to a networking event with a twist – the Great Cepen Bake Off.

Taking place on 28th November, professionals from various organisations within the community had a chance to meet and network whilst competing against each other to create their best Showstopper cake. Professionals from Home Instead Care, Age UK Wiltshire Living Well Team and Chippenham Community Hub gathered at Cepen Lodge to compete against the home’s team and create their fabulous cakes. Special guest Shan from Biggs Bakes came to observe the teams working and judge the final masterpieces, with support from resident Mary.

It was a really tough call, with all teams creating such brilliant cakes, but ultimately the Community Hub’s masterpiece was crowned the winner.

Jade Hodge, Senior General Manager at Cepen Lodge says: “Cepen Lodge is keen to be part of the community and our bake off competition allowed individuals from the care and community industry to meet and connect with one another. It was a great chance to share experiences of working within the care sector, make new contacts within the community, and of course, get competitive with each other! Our residents also really enjoyed getting involved in the competition, it was such a fun day for everyone involved.”
