Celebrating 65 years of marriage with some words of wisdom!

It was a special day at Charlotte House Care Home in Bebington this week, as residents Beryl and Eric celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Both originally from Anfield area and married in Liverpool they moved to Charlotte House July 2020 where they have continued to be able to enjoy married life together.

They started the day with a champagne breakfast and opened all their cards and presents, including a special card from King Charles. They have a special party planned this weekend in the home to continue their celebrations.

We asked them both What advice would they give to people just starting out on marriage?

Beryl – work things out together, be patient with each other and laugh together.

Eric- you need to always consider each other’s ideas and feelings.

And what’s the secret to a happy marriage?
Eric – Patience
Beryl – There is no secret just 2 people who fall in love, understand and listen to each other, Most importantly understand each other sense of humour.
