Celebrate Community And Nostalgia At Kailash Manor’s Classic Car Themed Open Day

Kailash Manor Care Home recently hosted an exceptional Open Day celebrating Care Home Open Week with a delightful Classic Car Theme. This special event showcased our facilities, residents, and dedicated team, while providing local older adults and their families a chance to connect with our home and learn more about the social care sector.

The Open Day, which featured an impressive display of 15 classic cars, was supported by Mick Owen, Chairman of the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club – London NW & W region, and Keith Barnard, Events Representative for both the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club and the Uxbridge Classic Car Club. Their enthusiastic participation exceeded expectations, showcasing a diverse collection of meticulously maintained classic cars, including a 1969 Jaguar 420, 1932 Riley Kestrel, 1960 Ford Anglia, and many more.

Residents were thrilled by the nostalgic display, sparking joyful memories and lively conversations about their own past car experiences. Car owners and enthusiasts engaged with residents, sharing insights about the cars’ history and restoration, adding an educational dimension to the event.

The Open Day attracted local families and classic car enthusiasts, fostering community involvement and support for the care home. Live music from the 1950s to 1980s and refreshments, including Gujarati specialities such as patras and samosas, which enhanced the festive atmosphere.

The event was a resounding success, bringing immense joy and satisfaction to the residents and strengthening community ties.

Ruth Kigaa, our Home Manager stated:
