Catford Care Home Celebrates CQC Success

Beechcroft Care Home, in Catford, is celebrating after receiving additional praise from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The home, which is operated by Akari Care, is meeting all standards of care, set out by the regulator, which judges a care home’s services based on safety, effectiveness, care, responsiveness and its leadership.

Last year, in its previous inspection, the CQC also gave Beechcroft Care Home a clean bill of health.

The inspector’s report commented that: “The service was caring. People told us staff were kind and polite. Staff supported people to maintain relationships with their friends and family. They involved people and their relatives in planning their care and support,” and “One relative told us, “I visit a person almost every day and my observation is that staff are caring and kind.””

In addition, residents and relatives said: “I am really happy here, the staff are friendly and good fun,” and “I have lived here for years. I have no concerns with my safety at all,” as well as:“Staff are excellent, very good at their jobs.”

Cindy Almroof, home manager at Beechcroft Care Home, said: “We are delighted to have received another excellent report from the CQC. Our staff are committed to providing residents with high quality care and the positive findings are a testament to their hard work.

“We won’t rest on our laurels, though, and always take on board constructive feedback – whether it is from the independent regulator, staff, residents or their relatives. The excellent feedback from the inspector and residents is particularly pleasing and we will continue to build on this success.”

Lynn Fearn, deputy CEO at Akari Care, said: “This recent positive CQC report highlights the quality of care provided to residents at Beechcroft and I would like to congratulate Cindy and her team for their dedicated efforts.”

Located on Brownhill Road, Catford, Beechcroft Care Home provides nursing care for up to 26 elderly residents.
