The annual event, which takes place on the 2nd of December, is organised by specialist nursing and dementia care home Foxburrow Grange, and will see residents, their relatives and the local community come together to get into the Christmas spirit.
The Bazaar will be opened by Colchester Mayor, Councillor Gerard Oxford, and will feature a range of festivities, including live music, gift stalls, craft stalls, a tombola and raffle with prizes, and a special appearance by Santa Claus.
Staff, residents and volunteers will all help run the event, with donations by attendees and businesses going to causes chosen by residents and their families.
Margaret Brodie, Activities Coordinator at Foxburrow Grange, says the Bazaar is a great opportunity to bring residents and the community together to celebrate Christmas:
“We’ve been hosting the Christmas Bazaar since Foxburrow Grange opened in 2013 and every year the event gets bigger and better. It’s a fantastic way to help residents celebrate this special time of year, giving them the opportunity to see their family and friends, meet the local community and bring everyone together to get into the festive spirit.
“Events like these are important for care home residents. This time of year can be particularly tough for those without family and with special needs and requirements, which is why at Foxburrow Grange we strive to ensure that all our residents have an enjoyable Christmas. Equally, as we have our doors open to the wider community, the Christmas Bazaar is a great way for those wanting to find out more about care homes to see our facilities in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We can’t wait for the Bazaar to get underway and share this day with everyone,” she said.
The Foxburrow Grange Christmas Bazaar will open at 2pm on the 2nd of December and all are welcome to attend.
