Care Home Residents Pay Their Respects On Remembrance Day
ELDERLY care home residents took part in a Remembrance Day parade at the Cenotaph on Acklam Road in Stockton-on-Tees.
Several residents from Mandale House Care Home went to the ceremony to commemorate members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.
Sarah Robinson, Activity Coordinator at the care home, said: “The residents appreciate the opportunity to pay their respects each year and walk around the cenotaph. The ceremony means a great deal to them, as many have relatives and friends who have died in the line of duty.
“Our thanks go to the relatives and past relatives of our residents, particularly Joyce and Howard Wood, who generously continue to support the home since the passing of Howard’s mother.”
The care home held its own commemorative event for those residents who could not attend the parade, inviting performer Janie St John to tell stories from the past on Armistice Day.
