attenTHE BORO invited elderly care home residents to attend the game against Chelsea as guests of the club.

John Train and Peter Wilson, from Mandale House Care Home in Stockton, cheered on the Middlesbrough players from the stand alongside carer Anna Parker.

Despite the 1-0 loss to the Premier League leaders, both gentlemen were delighted to be at the match.

Peter, 81, a lifelong Boro supporter, said: “I couldn’t believe we got tickets for such a big game.”

John, 67, added: “I was delighted to get out and about. The atmosphere of a premiership football match is unbelievable.”

Christine Reason, Home Manager at Mandale House Care Home, said: “Our thanks go to Middlesbrough Football Club for donating three tickets to one of the biggest games of the year.

“The residents thoroughly enjoyed the day out and, for Peter especially as a lifelong supporter, it was a thrill to experience the stadium atmosphere of a live game.”
