Care Home Indulges Residents’ Sweet Tooth

Stockton-on-Tees care home holds a dedicated day for chocolate lovers

Residents at a Stockton-on-Tees care home enjoyed a special sweet treat earlier this month; taking part in a day of baking, bingo and time with family and friends.

Resident’s at The Beeches care home in Teesside indulged in the tasty treat as a spin-off from their normal healthy eating regime, with everyone at the home enjoying the coca aroma throughout the day – getting their hands stuck into old-fashioned chocolate cake making.

The residents enjoyed indulging in the dedicated chocolate day as part of the varied activity schedule at the home.

Sue Abdi, The Beeches manager said: “It was a fantastic day with many of the residents joining in to bake some beautiful cakes. Needless to say we all enjoyed eating them after with friends and family.”

The event at The Beeches – which belongs to the Hill Care group – made up part of the homes schedule of events which includes celebrating national days, craft sessions and visits from members of the community which is designed to keep the residents active.

Sue said: “We endeavour to hold a whole range of activities at The Beeches, and believe it is really important for the residents to have the opportunity to reminisce, experience new things and spend valuable time with their family and friends.”
