Care Home Celebrates Mother’s Day with a Princess Party

The Residents of the Edensor Care Centre in Clacton on Sea celebrated Mother’s Day with a Princess Party

The residents of the Edensor Care Home in Clacton celebrated Mother’s Day with a Princess Party on 26 March. The idea for the party was conceived after three residents had asked to become a Princess for the day as part of the Home’s very successful wish tree initiative.

‘Lucy’s Princess Parties’ hosted the event and ensured several princesses made the trip to Clacton on Sea for this magical event. They served a delicious traditional afternoon tea with exquisite princess themed cakes.

Lindsey Milliken, Deputy Manager, Edensor Care Home, said,
“In 2021, we asked our residents to place a card on our ‘Wish Tree’ asking for something that they really wanted. We have granted lots of the wishes already, so when three of our residents, Shirley, Jean, and Ruth asked to be a Princess for the day, we were delighted to grant their requests by throwing this very special party. No matter what age you are, who doesn’t want to be a Princess for the day. We were delighted to be joined on the day by guests from Cabrini our Care Home in Orpington and our Supported Living Service in Bromley, who both care for adults with learning disabilities.”

Five Princess’s left their kingdoms and made their way to Clacton for the party at which they sang and danced for the residents. To add extra sparkle the Edensor team staff were asked to leave their uniforms at home and dress for this special occasion.

Lucy Roper, Princess Aurora, Lucy Princess Parties, said,
“Our Princesses are usually guests at children’s parties so creating this magical event for the residents at Edensor was an absolute pleasure and we could see from everyone’s faces that they were having as much fun as we were.”
