Care England & ITN Productions Launch Care England News In Time For National Care Home Open Day

Care England and ITN Productions formed a ground breaking partnership to create a dedicated online news programme providing a unified voice for the care and social care sector.

Having toured the country bringing to life superb examples of quality care and success stories from the sector, we’re please to be able to launch the news programme in time for the National Care Home Open Day Friday 20th June 2014.

Presented by national newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky, from the ITN national news studios, the aim of the programme is to bring to life the key issues facing the sector, and with that gather more support for vital policy and funding requirements

Naturally, ITN Productions have made this programme free to stream or download and playback during the National Care Home Open Day for all members taking part at this year’s open day.

To stream the Programme during the National Care Home Open Day visit here or if you want to download the programme and/or its individual segments visit this link.

We encourage everyone participating in the National Care Home Open Day to play the programme as you open your doors to your community and help us showcase the quality care and innovative ideas across the vibrant social care sector.

The programme includes interviews from Professor Martin Green, Chief Executive at Care England, Andrea Sutcliffe, Chief Inspector for Adult Social Care at CQC and Andy Burnham MP, Shadow Health Secretary.

In addition, it features some fantastic case studies from Skills for Care, DC Care, Henshaws Society for Blind People, SCA Tena, Paying for Care, Bidvest 3663, Budget Control, Wellburn Care Homes, Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks, Medipost, Sunrise Senior Living, Apetito, Orchard Care Homes, Towergate Insurance, The National Skills Academy for Social Care, Institute of Diabetes for Older People, Independent Diabetes Trust and Gracewell Healthcare.

More than 220 inspectors and staff from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) are expected to attend care homes across the country this Friday 20th June 2014. The National Care Home Open Day offers a unique opportunity for members of the public to learn about their local care homes and find out first-hand what good care looks like.

The ITN and Care England news programme will continue to make its mark with the upcoming Care England Annual Conference on November 13th 2014 at Church House, London where the content will be shown to delegates.

We want to sustain the momentum we have gathered and uncover more success stories of care and support between now and the Annual Conference. If you’d like more information on participating in the next phase of this project, please contact our Director of UK Programming Simon Shelley, simon.shelly@itn.co.uk. Inclusion in the final programme is by invitation only.
