Campaign for Learning Commends RMBI Care Co.’s Work on Menopause Awareness

Care provider RMBI Care Co. has been commended at the Learning at Work Week Impact Awards 2022 for its commitment to becoming an accredited Menopause Friendly organisation. The charity won the Commendation in the category of Supporting Business and Organisational Goals.

RMBI Care Co., which operates 17 care homes in England and Wales, has been recognised for its varied activities and events focussed on menopause awareness during Learning at Work Week. Such activities included virtual learning sessions, podcasts, videos and self-directed learning activities.

Thanks to these activities and sessions, staff had the opportunity to learn that the menopause can affect everyone (not just those who are personally experiencing it), symptoms can vary and, for some, can have a real detrimental effect on their mental health. Importantly, they also learnt how they can support colleagues and how to ask for help should they need to.

Claire Dodd, Assistant Director for Learning and Development at RMBI Care Co., said:
“Investing in our staff is a key priority for us at RMBI Care Co. We do this by providing engaging activities for staff so they can learn more about this really important subject. We’re thrilled to be recognised for our continuous efforts, which have made our Learning at Work Week to be of award winning status.”

Learning at Work Week is an initiative that calls on employers across the country to promote a learning culture for all staff within their organisation.
Julia Wright, National Director at the Campaign for Learning, said:
“As this year’s Learning at Work Week events show, organisations are using lifelong learning to positively drive change, and respond to changes which we are seeing as a result of economic, technological and work-life shifts. They’ve shown how well-designed events and activities help organisations and people to adapt, progress and thrive.”
