Camden Care Home Celebrates More Than 130 Years Of Experience With Staff Recognition

STAFF at a Camden care home were recognised for their long service with a party involving the Mayor of Camden, Sabrina Francis.

The event took place at Wellesley Road care home, which is operated by Shaw healthcare and owned by Camden London Borough Council.

Staff, residents and their families marked the easing of Covid-19 restrictions to enjoy live entertainment and a buffet lunch. Alongside the Mayor, they were also joined by Shaw healthcare chief financial officer Russell Brown and chief operating officer Mike Smith.

Special mentions were given to Bridget Browne, Paul Prins, Rupert Alexander, Jean-Bosco Lumeka and Claire Burnett, who celebrated 37, 33, 31, 19 and 11 years at the home respectively.

Abiodun Ojo, service manager at Wellesley Road, said: “It’s wonderful to be able to invite people into the home for this special celebration after what has been a challenging 18 months. I have become so proud of the amazing team here and I’m glad we were able to recognise their efforts.

“Hopefully there will be many more events to come where we can welcome more people from the local community.”

Wellesley Road care home provides care for up to 60 elderly residents, including those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
