A workforce of 7 volunteers from BT gave up their time to take part in a community volunteering day at Stocks Hall Nursing & Care Home in Skelmersdale helping transform the gardens and providing fun activities within the home.
The BT employees rolled up their sleeves and arrived with energy and enthusiasm at the Skelmersdale based Care Home on Friday 29th August 2014. The men and women from BT’s Corporate Account Management Team based in Skelmersdale commenced the day with some gardening activities – weeding, tidying, cleaning and prepping the communal areas ready for winter. The team went onto to offer a varied social activity programme offering to provide pamper treatments such as nail painting and involving people living at the home in a range of fun activities such as card games and baking.
Speaking on behalf of the BT Team, Chris Fahey said “volunteering projects are great for team building but more importantly giving something back to the local community. BT is part of the Dementia Friends initiative, which is close to all our hearts and we wanted to work with the Stocks Hall Group as they are passionate about providing the very best in Dementia Care in our local community”.
Chris said “we have all thoroughly enjoyed our time here, knowing we have made a lasting difference within our local community is very valuable. Spending time here, laughing and chatting with the people living at Stocks Hall has been wonderful, we are really looking forward to coming back!”
The results of the Team’s hard work are truly outstanding. Sue Gaskell, Deputy Manager of the Home said “we are delighted with the work the BT Team have done for us and everyone at Stocks Hall Skelmersdale are thrilled.”
Stocks Hall Nursing & Care Group would like to thank all of the team members from BT for their efforts and hard work and look forward to working with them again in the future.
