Borough Care Residents Feeling Festive

Borough Care residents and their families got into the Christmas spirit at a festive tea dance, held at Offerton Community Centre. Residents from Borough Care’s eleven homes in Stockport came together for a light lunch of festive turkey open sandwiches, followed by a choice of desserts.

During the afternoon, live entertainment was provided by the Doing Dementia Differently Choir. This intergenerational choir is made up of school children, care home residents and those living with dementia. Residents and staff also enjoyed a festive sing-a-long and a visit from Father Christmas.

The festive tea dance was organised in the main by Joanne Sherratt, Activity Lifestyle Facilitator at Borough Care’s Lisburne Court home in Offerton. The Activity Lifestyle Facilitators from the other homes assisted in the organisation, to ensure the party went with a bang. Joanne says: “The Christmas tea dance is a real highlight of Borough Care’s festive calendar. It is an event residents, their friends, families and members of the local community love to come along to. It’s a wonderful opportunity to spread some festive cheer and ensure we wish all of our extended Borough Care family a very merry Christmas.”
