Bloomin’ Marvellous! Care Home Celebrates Gardening Success
Residents and colleagues at a Black Isle care home are celebrating after winning dozens of prizes and two coveted trophies at two of the region’s leading summer shows.
Residents at Eilean Dubh in Fortrose spent months growing plants and flowers and creating entries for the Black Isle Show and Black Isle Horticultural Society show.
Their hard work paid off at the Black Isle Show, where Eilean Dubh secured four first places, five seconds and two thirds.
Residents were also celebrating after achieving five first places, 12 seconds and 10 thirds at the Black Isle Horticultural Society show.
The home also came away with two pieces of silverware, winning the RAC Cup Challenge and the Quincentennial Cup.
Fiona Stoddart, wellbeing coordinator at Eilean Dubh, said: “We honestly couldn’t believe the results, and we’re incredibly proud of what our residents have achieved. They put so much time and effort into preparing their entries, with wonderful support from their families and our colleagues, and it was fantastic to see all that hard work recognised with so many prizes.”
