The programme, which is underpinned by the National End of Life Care Strategy, supports care homes to achieve measures set out by the Department of Health Quality Markers for care homes and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Essential Standards of Quality and Safety.
Deborah Baker, General Manager at Belong Morris Feinmann, said: “We are delighted to be awarded the Six Steps end of life accreditation, which looks at organisational culture as well as the skills and knowledge base of our team. It is recognition that customers can be assured that we will deliver high quality end of life care and provide support and comfort at what can be a very difficult time.
“I would like to thank all colleagues for their unfaltering efforts to maintain the standards that have led to this commendation, which comes at a time when we are preparing to open our final two households in Didsbury. We look forward to widening access to our high quality care and facilities as we expand the village to its full capacity.
To achieve the accreditation, Belong Morris Feinmann demonstrated strong commitment and a multi-professional approach to ensuring the best possible end of life care for its customers across the programme’s three key audits. This included an audit of the entire village and evaluation of staff knowledge, skills and confidence in end of life care.
