Beach, Fish & Chips And Lovely Memories: Live-In Care Provider Treats Residents To A Sunny Day Out

A live-in care provider in Swindon organised a day out on the beach for clients to enjoy the warm weather, followed by a traditional fish and chips meal by the sea front.

The event, organised by Promedica24, involved a free taxi service from clients’ homes to Christchurch beach, where they had the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine with each other as well as their care workers.

The four individuals were taken for a stroll along the sea front providing the perfect opportunity for reminiscence; many of the clients shared memories of visiting the beach as children, whilst others remembered bringing their children to that particular beach.

Kerry Stevens, Registered Manager at Promedica24, said: “Our day on the beach was a great opportunity for clients to meet each other, make new friendships and have a nice time together.

“It also meant that those who are unable to get out and about often had the opportunity to enjoy a pleasant day at a place that brings back so many lovely memories.”

The stroll down the sea front was followed by a stop at an outside café for a traditional meal of fish and chips in the sunshine. The day also encouraged friendships to be made and social interaction between residents, which can prove to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
