Batley Care Home Residents Set Sail At Summer Fair Cruise
HC-One’s Lydgate Lodge Care Home in Batley, West Yorkshire, transformed into a vibrant cruise ship for its annual Summer Fair on Saturday, September 6, that united residents, families, colleagues, and the local community together for a day full of fun, music, and sunshine.
The care home was decked out with a nautical theme, giving residents the feeling of being on a cruise around the world. Guests enjoyed a variety of activities, including a tombola, raffle, face painting, stalls from local businesses, and delicious homemade treats from the kitchen.
Refreshing cocktails and live music from the talented Sadie, who performed songs from across the globe, added to the holiday atmosphere.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Kirklees, Councillor Liz Smaje, who said:
“Thank you for inviting me to Lydgate Lodge Care Home Summer Fair last week. I really enjoyed meeting the residents and the cruise theme was a great idea. Best wishes to the residents and staff at Lydgate Lodge.”
Ben Makwar, HC-One’s Lydgate Lodge Care Home Manager, reflected on the success of the day:
“We had a fantastic day, with great company, singing, dancing, super food and drinks – all in the sunshine. The residents enjoyed their ‘virtual’ cruise around the world, and it was wonderful to see so many smiles.”
