Altrincham Home Spreads Festive Cheer Around Town With Sponsored Walk

Residents and staff from MHA Handsworth were joined by pupils from and staff from Altrincham Preparatory on the walk

An Altrincham home went on a sponsored festive walk around the town to help raise some funds.

MHA Handsworth was joined by members of the community alongside pupils and staff from Altrincham Preparatory as they went on a festive stroll.

The gang of walkers walked just a mile and have raised at least £120, which will go into the homes amenities fund.

MHA Handsworth provides residential care for 43 residents.

Charlotte Fowke, activities coordinator said:
“We had a great turnout for the walk and were very happy with how it went.

“Thankfully the weather was kind to us, it was a bit chilly but dry which meant it was perfect walking conditions.

“Our residents were in a great mood and kept us all entertained by singing and dancing during the walk.

“The pupils from the school really enjoyed it, they had a great time walking and talking to the residents and it was a lot of fun.

“We did have to make a few stops along the way but managed to complete the walk which was just under a mile.

“We received some great support from the community, so far we have managed to raise over £120, and are still awaiting some sponsorship forms.

“The money raised will go towards the home’s amenities fund, from which activities and trips will be arranged.

“On behalf of the home I want to thank everyone who contributed towards the walk, we all appreciate it.”
