Alice In Wonderland Themed Summer Fete Part Of Fundraiser Raises More Than £850

An Alice in Wonderland themed summer fete was just one of the activities that combined to raise more than £850 for a Falmouth home.

Staff members at MHA Langholme dressed up in Alice in Wonderland costumes as part of their summer fete.

The home provides residential and residential dementia care for 40 residents

Colleagues came as Cheshire cats, the white rabbit and home manager Maria Browne donned a Queen of Hearts costume.

Community members, family members as well as staff and residents enjoyed wonderful cakes, entertainment and various stalls

Local businesses donated prizes for the raffle which were received really well.

Kate Bateson, administration manager said:
“The summer fete was a brilliant day and we all had some great fun.

“The residents had a great time, they had plenty of smiles on their faces and it was great to see them enjoying themselves.

“The weather was brilliant and throughout the day we had more than 100 people come to the fete.

“During the fete we managed to raise £200 which took our summer fundraising to more than £850 which is a great achievement.

“We have been supported greatly by members of the community and family members of residents

“The funds raised will go towards the homes amenities fund, which is used to arrange activities and trips for our residents.

“Again, we just want to thank everyone for the support throughout the fundraising events we have arranged and are very grateful for it”
