A Little Reassurance, Born from Love
Why MiCode Exists
When you care for someone you love, you want to know they can get help, even when you cannot be beside them. That feeling inspired MiCode. My sister Louise and I cared for our brother Tony and our mother Betty. We understood how much it mattered for people helping them to have the right information. As a Professor of Computer Science at Goldsmiths, University of London, I wanted to make that easier. MiCode carries your chosen medical information and emergency contacts through a QR code. One smartphone scan opens it; no app is needed.
National Recognition and the AXA Award
Winning a runner-up award in the national AXA Startup Angel Competition 2026, run in partnership with The Standard, from hundreds of entries, made us incredibly proud. The national recognition places MiCode among a select group of businesses backed by major UK publishing and mentoring support, giving us a valuable platform to reach families who may never have heard of us. We want to turn that recognition into practical help.
Supporting Local Communities and Dementia Care
Building on our work with Dementia Jersey, where codes have been made available to support families, we are offering local community organisations supporting people with dementia up to 50 free MiCodes each, including free lifetime subscriptions. This builds directly on our outreach efforts, offering real reassurance to families. It is our way of turning a family experience into a little reassurance for other families, without ongoing subscription costs for the people receiving these free codes.
Get in Touch
Local dementia support organisations can register their interest by emailing info@micode.uk, including their organisation’s name, area served, contact person, and the number of MiCodes requested (up to 50). Individuals and families can also purchase MiCodes through Amazon or at www.micode.uk.
