MHA Communities Horsforth Marks 30-Year Anniversary with Community Celebration

A communities scheme based in Horsforth marked their 30th anniversary with a celebratory party packed full of food, entertainment and fun.
MHA Communities Horsforth have been providing their services within the community of Horsforth for 30 years.
The scheme provides a range of groups and activities to empower older people to make new friends, maintain independence and reduce social isolation.
To mark the occasion staff from the scheme invited members to spend the day with them at the Horsforth Conservative Club, in Town Street to celebrate the achievement.
There was a buffet spread for everyone to enjoy along with some live entertainment, much to the delight of the visitors.
The staff also arranged a memory tree for visitors to write down any words on their association with the scheme and the memories they have shared here.
Dean Steadman, communities manager said: “It’s an absolute honour to be part of the journey that this scheme has been on.
“Being a part of the community for 30 years is a huge achievement
“We had 70 members turn up, which was the maximum capacity, which meant we had a number of people who unfortunately were unable to come.
“The atmosphere throughout the day was great and it was amazing to see so many members.
“We received plenty of wonderful feedback, and hosting an event at the venue was a first, but it’s definitely somewhere we will host more events.
“In the last 30 years we have had a very positive impact on the community around us and long may it continue.
“I want to thank everyone who came and joined in with the celebrations and those who we have supported along the way in the last 30 years for making the scheme the success it is today.
“Members and staff have made friends for life through the range of services we provide.
“Combatting isolation and loneliness is something that we are always keen to break and enable those around us to have close connections they can rely on.”
