Home of Compassion is a landmark property in the centre of Thames Ditton and Caring Homes’ multi million pound investment includes renovation of the 18th Century Grade II* listed main house and adjacent buildings, together with a newbuild extension. The home, which overlooks the Thames with views across to Hampton Court, provides residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 78 elderly residents.

At a recent open weekend (23rd -24th April), more than 400 people visited Home of Compassion to see its transformation and reserve rooms. New residents are arriving almost daily, with 10 having moved in at the time of Mr Raab’s visit.
Mr Raab said: “This is a wonderful site in the heart of Thames Ditton village. Home of Compassion combines a strong level of care, from the dementia expertise to the care that goes into the cuisine, as well as a really upbeat, positive atmosphere. I wish them all the best of luck.”

Avril Jones, Home Manager, said: “We are delighted that our local MP, who is also our neighbour, took time out of his busy schedule to visit us and meet our residents. He was very interested in seeing the building but also speaking to the residents to find out how they were settling in.”
