Ideal Carehomes Welcome the Community for National Care Home Open Day

Residents and staff from each Ideal care home are getting ready to open their doors to the community for National Care Home Open Day on Friday 16th June.

The day is a UK wide initiative, with emphasis on the importance of connecting care home residents with local communities, developing lasting relationships and encouraging intergenerational rapport. This year’s theme is ‘Friendship’ and each home will be hosting various events to celebrate friendships between residents, families, friends and staff, as well as with their neighbours. It is also a time to celebrate all the great staff who enhance the life of residents on a daily basis through their care.

Ideal Carehomes have joined in the with Care Home Open Day celebrations each year, and everyone looks forward to the day. Paul Farmer, Managing Director of Ideal Carehomes, said, “Care Home Open Day is all about breaking down the preconceived perception of care homes and connecting people. It is so important for our residents to continue to feel a part of the local community when they live in an Ideal home. It is also important for us to support our local communities by inviting them to meet our residents and enjoy our homes. We host many events throughout the year for local people to join in, but Care Home Open Day is always a great celebration!”

Ideal Carehomes provides residential and dementia care in 15 homes across the North and Midlands. Each home is committed to offering residents aspirational lifestyle choices, assisting them to enjoy an active social environment with events, trips and daily activities on offer.
