York’s New £6m Care Home’s Striking Design Is Unveiled

The people of York can now see how a brand new and luxurious care home at Clifton Moor looks after its scaffolding was taken down and the development approaches completion.

Known as Clifton Hall, the development is just off Shipton Road, next to York Sports Club, and is being built by Yorkshire and Lincolnshire construction company, Hobson & Porter, on behalf of Brough based Yorkare Homes.

Work started early last year and when it completes this spring, the development will offer 60 splendid en-suite rooms across three floors and provide residential, respite and day care. One floor will also provide dementia care.

Nicola Anderson, Brand and Interior Design Manager at Yorkare, said: “From the very beginning, there has been tremendous interest in Clifton Hall, and it’s easy to see why. The home has been thoughtfully designed to deliver exceptional care in beautiful surroundings, creating a warm, welcoming place where people can truly feel comfortable and supported.

“Every detail has been carefully considered to enhance residents’ wellbeing – from the spacious, elegantly designed rooms to the high-quality facilities and inviting communal spaces. Most importantly, it will be our dedicated and compassionate team who bring the home to life, providing outstanding, person-centred care and support each and every day.

“Now that the scaffolding has come down, the local community can really appreciate the building’s character and the level of care and quality that sits behind its design. It’s a wonderful addition to the area, and we’re looking forward to an exciting final phase as we prepare to welcome our first residents.

Richard Hunter, managing director from Hobson & Porter, said: “Clifton Hall is the ninth care home we’ve built for Yorkare and it looks fantastic. As a result of our significant experience working with Yorkare, as well as the strength of the whole development team and our supply chain, the project has progressed well and we’re very pleased to see the scaffolding coming down on time, which is always a pivotal moment.

“We’re already receiving positive feedback from the local community, especially because the development has replaced an old and disused medical centre. In addition, as part of the scheme, Yorkare has generously gifted a parcel of land to the neighbouring York Sports Club for the creation of additional new pitches, which will also benefit the wider community.”
