Stocks Hall Care Homes, Andrew Smith House, Nelson – Awarded 5 Stars

It is Stocks Hall Nursing & Care Group’s delight for their Nelson Home to be awarded 5 Stars Food Hygiene Rating for 2019.

This is the highest food hygiene rating award possible.

It was late Thursday afternoon when Local Authority’s Food Safety Officer turned up unannounced into the kitchens at Stocks Hall’s, Andrew Smith Home.

At the inspection 3 key elements were checked;

• How hygienically the food is handled, prepared, cooked, reheated, cooled and stored.
• Physical condition of the premises including cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation, pest control and other facilities.
• How the Business, managers ways of keeping food safe, looking at processes, training and systems to ensure good hygiene is maintained.

The rating shows how well the business is doing overall, based on the standards found at the time of Inspection.

5 star rating means Food Hygiene Standards are very good and is operational in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
