
New Manager to Bring Quality Care and Community Ties to Exeter Care Home
Woodland View Lodge care home opening this September in Exeter, has announced Michele Baxendale-Nichols as its General Manager.
Operated by Oyster Care Homes, Woodland View Lodge has been purpose-built to provide exceptional residential, dementia, and respite care for up to 66 residents.
At the helm is Michele Baxendale-Nichols, an accomplished leader with over 35 years of experience in healthcare.
A former NHS and care home board member, Michele holds a master’s degree in healthcare leadership and management and is also a trained executive coach—committed to developing high-performing teams and nurturing a strong person-centred care culture.
Michele said, “We’re not just building a care home—we’re creating a vibrant community where residents feel respected, empowered, and truly at home.”
Michele is also passionate about community connection and plans for Woodland View Lodge to play an active role in the local area, as part of the home’s ‘Community Tree’ initiative. Michele continued,
“Strong community ties enrich the lives of residents,” she adds. “As part of the Community Tree project, we’ll be working closely with local groups, schools, and organisations to ensure Woodland View Lodge is a welcoming space for everyone and that our residents remain a valued part of area they know and love.”
