Maria Mallaband Appoints Paul McPartlan as Chief Operating Officer
Care home provider Maria Mallaband Care Group has appointed Paul McPartlan as Chief Operating Officer – 35 years after he began his journey as a front-line carer.
Paul’s experience as a volunteer carer working with patients recovering from spinal injuries in 1990, inspired his lifelong commitment to the sector. His career in health and wellbeing has included senior positions with Nuffield Health, BMI Healthcare, Elysium Healthcare, and Places Leisure (Places for People), where he most recently served as Chief Executive.
He joins Maria Mallaband Care Group (MMCG) – one of the UK’s leading independent care home providers with almost 80 homes across the UK – as the company drives ahead with investment and innovation.
Paul said: “I hope my extensive operational experience across healthcare can help the organisation to grow and flourish. I jumped at the chance to join a group that is doing so well and has great potential to do even more, meeting the growing demand for high quality, compassionate care.”
Paul has set out his ambition to see every MMCG home rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and has plans to visit every location across the group to see how he can better support staff.
He added:
“I want us to be Good or Outstanding everywhere and continue to invest and improve. I also want to help forge careers like mine, from care worker to COO, for those that want to have that opportunity.
“I will be visiting all of our homes over the coming weeks and months to understand how I can help our teams achieve their goals, and the organisation achieve its goals. We have an incredibly bright future ahead. I can’t wait to get started.”
Phil Burgan, Chairman said: “We’re delighted to welcome Paul to the MMCG family. His combination of operational experience, strategic vision and genuine understanding of frontline care makes him the perfect fit to lead our operations as we continue our mission to deliver outstanding care across all our homes.”
