Local Care Home Welcomes the RBL and Community for Veteran’s Event

On Tuesday 3rd March the Hickathrift House Care Home was delighted to welcome Toby North, Chairman of the Wisbech Royal British Legion and Andrew Sharp, Vice Chairman to the home for a community veterans’ event.

The home was also joined by the Emneth over 60s club, the local community and visiting police officers PC Cage and Sergeant Green from the local constabulary.

Toby spoke to the audience about the history of the Royal British Legion and the invaluable work taking place locally to support veterans past and present, before presenting two of the home’s veterans with special poppy insignias to mark their veteran status.

General Manager Paula Melerski, comments: “We are only too happy to welcome ex-servicemen and women and their families from our local community to Hickathrift House Care Home in order to support them. We’re delighted our event was a huge success and we’re incredibly grateful to Toby and the British Legion.
