Heartfelt Celebration Day at Thornhill House

On a bright and cheerful Saturday, Thornhill House was buzzing with life and laughter as over 300 people gathered to commemorate the memory of Heather Turton, a beloved and long-standing member of the Thornhill care team. Heather, who was dedicated to caring for our residents with unparalleled kindness and dedication, passed away last year, and while her absence left a void in hearts and halls, her spirit continues to inspire daily.

In her memory, Thornhill House organized a special celebration day, filled with activities that Heather herself would have cherished.

As the sun climbed higher, the main stage came alive with performances that resonated with Heather’s love for music and dance and featured 2 Irish dancers and two dancers aged three!

The turnout was overwhelming, with over 300 people attending throughout the day. The sense of community and shared purpose was palpable. Families, friends, former colleagues, and residents all came together, united by their love and respect for Heather.

Home manager Christian Whiteley Mason said: “We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and supported the event. Your contributions not only honoured Heather’s memory but also ensured that her legacy of care and compassion continues to thrive within our hospice community. She would have been delighted to see the outpouring of love and the success, a true celebration of a life well-lived and a spirit that will never be forgotten.”
