Congleton Care Home Residents Cue Up A Christmas To Remember With Snooker Legend Steve Davis
Residents at Priesty Fields care home in Congleton, part of Sandstone Care Group, enjoyed a Christmas celebration to remember as six-time World Snooker Champion Steve Davis headlined a special festive event hosted by No Tier Snooker.
The event brought together around 100 No Tier Snooker Club members, guests, and residents from Priesty Fields for a Christmas lunch, live show and an afternoon of dancing to a live band.
No Tier Snooker is an incredible community group which brings together individuals living with early onset dementia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD), offering a place where they can connect, laugh and feel truly seen. The group meets once a week at Congleton Snooker Club and has close ties to Priesty Fields, where founder Ian Carter’s mum lives.
Ian Carter, founder of No Tier Snooker, said: “We were absolutely delighted with our Christmas event and honoured to welcome Steve Davis, six-time World Snooker Champion, for such an entertaining and memorable afternoon.
“My thanks also go to Chris Lovell, along with the local businesses, wider community, and the residents and staff at Priesty Fields for their fantastic support. The event perfectly captured the spirit of No Tier Snooker, and we’re already excited for what’s ahead in 2026.”
Residents at Priesty Fields were thrilled to meet Steve Davis, enjoy the show and join in the celebrations alongside No Tier Snooker members and guests.
Rebecca Murphy, home manager at Priesty Fields, said: “It was such a fantastic Christmas event and one our residents will be talking about for a long time. They absolutely loved meeting Steve Davis and were completely captivated by the show, which really was something special.
“We’re incredibly proud to support No Tier Snooker and the amazing work they do, and we’re so grateful to Ian Carter for creating such a memorable, inclusive event for everyone involved.”
