Carers UK Members And Volunteers Join The King And Queen At Special Windsor Castle Event
Members and volunteers from Carers UK attended a prestigious reception hosted by the King and Queen to honour unpaid carers and those working in the caring profession.
Thirteen carers were invited as special guests to the event at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, 11 February, joining representatives from other charities and health organisations.
Each of these carers has given their time and expertise to raise awareness of unpaid care, supporting Carers UK’s mission to improve life for unpaid carers — all while continuing to care for their own friends and family members.
Helen Walker, Chief Executive at Carers UK, said:
“We are immensely proud to see our members and volunteers — who are at the heart of our charity’s work — recognised in this way. Carers make an extraordinary contribution to families, communities and our health and care system every day, so often without the recognition or support they deserve.
“Their insight, experience and dedication are vital in helping us campaign for and build a better future for unpaid carers. It was a privilege to see their commitment acknowledged at such a special event and to celebrate the compassion and resilience they show in their caring roles day in, day out.”
