Care UK Becomes Second Largest Provider Following Major Acquisition

Care UK has significantly expanded its operations after assuming management and care provision of all homes previously operated by Aria Care and Danforth Care Homes, effective 18th December.

The move positions Care UK as the second largest care provider for older people in the UK, adding more than 12,000 beds to its portfolio and expanding its footprint to over 250 homes across England, Scotland and Wales.

The transition sees approximately 15,000 staff members joining Care UK’s workforce, including Operations Directors Karl Dawson and Daren Dalmedo, who previously held senior positions at Aria Care.

Andrew Knight, Chief Executive Officer of Care UK, emphasized continuity of care as the organization’s primary focus during the integration process.

“My team and I have the utmost respect for everything that Aria Care and Danforth Care Homes have achieved over the years, and we are proud to be a part of their ongoing journey,” Knight said. “Our strong values and dedication to care quality will complement those pre-existing within the two providers.”

He added that ensuring residents and their families continue to receive exceptional care and support remains the top priority throughout the transition and beyond.

Care UK brings more than 40 years’ experience in delivering care for older people and maintains some of the highest care quality ratings in the sector. The organization has received numerous industry awards for its standards of care provision.
The expansion represents one of the most significant consolidations in the UK care home sector in recent years.
