Care Home Residents Enjoy A Taste Of The Tropics
Residents at a Sanctuary Care home in Worcester experienced the delights of Turks and Caicos with a themed event that brought the spirit of the tropics to Worcestershire.
The special event at Juniper House Residential Care Home, was planned by the home’s team, with the support of Resident Ambassador Diane Helft.
The not-for-profit care home in St John’s was transformed with colourful decorations, with residents and staff sporting in floral garlands and their brightest clothes.
The home’s chef created a themed menu for the day, featuring jerk chicken and rice, followed by mango ice cream, and residents also enjoyed delicious rum cocktails.
Alongside the culinary delights, residents enjoyed learning fascinating facts about the culture, history, and traditions, as well as trying their hand at shell painting, followed by live music in the home’s garden room.
Activities coordinator Elaine Hoskins said:
“Our residents chose Turks and Caicos because they wanted to explore the culture and history of somewhere a bit more adventurous. They had a wonderful day learning all about his beautiful destination and had great fun dressing up, eating delicious food and enjoying this immersive experience.”
