Best-Selling Author Peter James Becomes Ambassador Of Guild Care

Internationally best-selling crime writer Peter James is lending his support to Worthing’s trusted social care charity, Guild Care, by becoming an ambassador.

Peter James is one of the UK’s most successful authors. He has written 42 novels, including the hugely popular Detective Superintendent Roy Grace series, which has sold over 23 million copies worldwide, achieved 21 consecutive Sunday Times number one bestsellers, and been adapted into the hit ITV drama ‘Grace’, as well as seven hugely successful stage plays. Her Majesty Queen Camilla has named Roy Grace as her favourite fictional detective.

Born in Brighton, Peter James has strong links to Sussex and a long history of supporting charitable organisations in the region. His decision to become an ambassador of Guild Care reflects his commitment to supporting local communities and improving quality of life for older people.

Peter James said,
“I am proud to be supporting Guild Care as an ambassador. Supporting charities is something I believe in passionately, especially local charities which reflect my interests. Guild Care is an exceptional Worthing charity that has been making a real difference in the local community for nearly 100 years.

“It is clear that staff and volunteers are committed to reducing loneliness and social isolation among older people, which sadly affects so many people in society today. Loneliness can have a severe impact on both physical health and happiness, especially in our later years.

In his role as Ambassador, Peter James will help raise awareness of the charity’s work as it responds to growing demand for social care and community support services, helping older people to live safe, fulfilling, and secure lives.

“I have seen this charity’s effectiveness first-hand, heard about its plans to help even more people, and felt the warmth of the community around it,” said Peter. “It is a privilege to lend my support to Guild Care and to help raise awareness of its valuable work.”

Warren Fabes, CEO of Guild Care, added,
“We are both honoured and delighted that Peter has agreed to become an Ambassador for Guild Care and grateful for his involvement with driving our mission forward here in Worthing.

“As one of the country’s most successful authors, we look forward to working with him to highlight the widespread benefits of creating a community where nobody feels isolated.”
