Alice Court Care Home Welcomes Eastbourne Community for Circus Themed Grand Opening

Alice Court Care Home in Eastbourne recently welcomed the local community for a circus themed open day.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement as guests were greeted by stilt walkers and Matt the clown from Zaz Entertainment, setting the tone for a lively and memorable celebration.

The day featured games, refreshments and live music from Lily Armstrong and Charlie Myers. Residents and guests were captivated by the Duo Millers and their impressive acrobatic performances, while magician Matt King left the crowd speechless with his astonishing tricks, including one that saw a guest’s wedding ring mysteriously reappear attached to his keys.

The Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Margaret Bannister, officially opened Alice Court. She commented on the occasion, saying, “I am delighted to be here today. Alice Court is a lovely building, and it has been wonderful to look around the home. Alice Court is already a part of the Eastbourne community, and we look forward to seeing more and more residents move in.”

Visitors had the opportunity to meet the team, speak with residents and their families and learn more about the personalised care, well-being and activities on offer. Team members were available throughout the day to answer questions and provide personal tours, showcasing the home’s modern facilities and the thoughtful design that supports residents to live well every day.

The event brought together local community groups, professionals, neighbours and residents from other Avery Healthcare communities, the Hawthorns Eastbourne and Eastbourne Gardens, for a day of celebration and connection.

Michelle Love-Patel, General Manager, said, “Today is about bringing people together, opening our doors to share what we do and celebrate the special community we have here in Eastbourne. Alice Court is a place where our residents are cared for, respected and supported every day.”

Jeremy Richardson, CEO of Avery Healthcare, shared his thoughts on the new care home, “When you build a home like this, it takes a huge amount of effort and a huge amount of commitment from a whole lot of people. But building it is just the very start, because running it and operating it is arguably significantly more difficult and we are very lucky to have a fabulous group of people here running this home. Like any good ship, you need a captain, and I would like to say a heartfelt thanks to Michelle for everything that she has done in getting the home to this place and I am sure that under her leadership the home will be truly fantastic going forward.”
