Touring Pantomime Rings In Christmas For Local Care Home Residents

Care home residents of Hill Care homes across the region will be treated to a series of events this festive season including Christmas fetes, carol singing and a pantomime performance of ‘Oliver’, put on by traveling theatre company Northeast Producers.

Staff at Ingleby and The Beeches in Stockton-On-Tees, and The Gables care home in Middlesbrough, which are all part of the Hill Care group, arranged for the actors to entertain the residents with an afternoon of music and laughter.

The travelling theatre company, which provides professional Productions for Community Venues, visited each of the homes throughout December, with a trip to The Beeches scheduled for Friday, December 20th.

Jan Vaughan, Regional Manager for the North East said: “We are pleased that, with the help of the Northeast Producers, we are able to bring the magic of the theatre into our homes for all of our residents to enjoy.  ‘Oliver’ is an old favourite among our residents with its heartwarming message and memorable songs, and it has been great to see the production performed with a pantomime twist!”

Heather Matthews from Northeast Producers said: “Our aim is to make theatre more accessible for everyone, and so we were delighted to be invited to perform for the residents and their families in the Hill Care homes. We find it really rewarding to be able to perform to people in their home environment and we’re sure this year’s show will have everyone laughing and singing along with us. ”

Next year’s pantomime from Northeast Producers will be ‘Annie’.
