Pudsey’s Visit Is Icing On The Cake

Pudsey's visit is icing on the cakePUDSEY Bear paid a televised visit to a Lymington care home ahead of Children in Need day.

The official mascot of the BBC’s fundraising telethon helped residents at Colten Care’s Belmore Lodge home decorate cup cakes for sale in aid of the annual appeal.

The visit was filmed by a BBC camera crew for inclusion in its coverage of the South’s fundraising activities.

Chef Simon Torr was shown giving tips on cake decoration to Pudsey, residents and carers in the home’s Rooftops café.

Activities Organiser Nikki Hansford said: “We all enjoyed Pudsey’s visit and he seemed more than happy to get his paws on those cakes. It was lovely to see the residents joining in too.”

The visit was arranged through Sue Hamblin, Appeals Assistant for BBC South, whose late mother Violet Enderwick used to live at Belmore Lodge.

Colten Care runs 19 care homes across Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire. Its services include residential, nursing, respite and dementia care. The family-run group is determined to set the highest standards in all aspects of care of the older person.
