ITM Annual Ball Raises Funds For Alzheimer’s Society
The South West branch of the Institute of Travel and Meetings (ITM) held its annual ball in Bristol raising funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.
The glittering event was held at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Bristol City Centre where 150 guests enjoyed the hospitality of Bristol’s newest four-star hotel.
Headed by Karen Skuse, chair of the South West ITM, the event raised £4292 for the charity which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Karen said: “We had another fantastic turn out which enabled us to raise the money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
“The annual ball is an important event on the South West ITM’s calendar as it enables members from across the region to get together to discuss issues affecting the business travel sector while raising money at the same time.”
Elaine Gibbins, sales director at the hotel said: “This is the second time we have hosted the ITM ball and it’s always a great night. Many of the guests hadn’t been in the hotel since the £5 million refurbishment and were very impressed by what they saw.
“Since the hotel’s refurbishment we’ve seen a marked rise in the number of organisations booking events at the venue. Having a strong brand name and a high level of customer service has gone a long way to make it one of the main venues for events like the ITM Ball.
“It proves that if Bristol is serious about attracting more business to the city then it has to provide the right infrastructure to make it happen.
“Now that the hotel has established itself as being one of the best city-centre venues for meetings, conferences and networking events, we’re looking forward to hosting similar events.”
