Home Manager At Oxford Care Home To Embark On Arctic Husky Trek For Alzheimer’s
Melody Vettraino, the Home Manager of Four Seasons Health Care’s Albany Care Home in Oxford, is embarking on an Arctic husky trek in April to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s Society.
From the 12th to the 19th of April 2014, Melody’s challenge will involve sledding 250km from Norway to Sweden where she will finish at the world famous Ice Hotel in Jukkasjarvi.
It is estimated that around 800,000 people across the UK have dementia, and this figure is projected to grow by up to 40% within the next 15 years. In Oxfordshire alone, over 7,847 people currently live with dementia.
