Graduate Internship Programme – NSA Social Care
To help meet the challenges of the growing social care sector, the Skills Academy has launched its Graduate Internship Programme to run alongside the established Graduate Management Training Scheme.
The Internship programme is designed to give graduates a taste of management in a social care organisation, over a challenging 6 week placement.
Interns are given responsibility for managing a discrete project or piece of work within their host organisation. As well as gaining a real insight into the social care sector, and management within it, there is an emphasis on interns adding significant value through the designated projects.
Although employment cannot be guaranteed at the end of the programme, it is hoped that some interns will be offered roles within their host organisations, while others may go on to apply for a place on the Graduate Management Training Scheme.
The Graduate Internship Programme entails:
- 6 week full time paid placement in a Social Care organisation
- Experience of managing a discrete project
- The opportunity to learn about the social care sector
- Career development training
The Skills Academy will be opening applications to Cohort 2 on 30 April 2014, to start the programme on 21 July 2014. Application forms will be available to download from this page, with interviews to follow in June.
