Gift For Granny Campaign Launched By The Little Group

GIFT TAG (5)The Little Group, winners of the EBA13 New Business of the Year, are asking companies and the public to get involved in supporting residents in their local care home by buying an extra Christmas gift and donating it to their Gift for Granny, Christmas gift appeal.

Across the UK some 450,000 people live in residential and nursing homes and unfortunately some of these residents have no family or friends to enjoy the festive season with. Whilst care home staff do a great job of making Christmas Day special for these residents, the Little Group are asking you to make the day even better by donating a gift so these residents have something to open on Christmas morning.

Stacey Crowther, Managing Director of the Little Group, said ‘Working within a number of care homes, it’s sometimes quite heart wrenching meeting residents who have lived very fulfilled lives where they have been an active part of the community; be it a teacher, a nurse, a council gardener, who now, for whatever reason, have no one to share this day with. As cliché as it sounds, we are all about trying to make a difference and we hope that by running the Gift for Granny appeal this year, we can help put a smile on someone’s face.’

The appeal is asking for new, unwrapped gifts that would be appropriate for the older generation, for both gentleman and ladies; soaps, slippers, books, biscuits etc. You can either drop your donation off at the Little Group office in the 3M BIC Centre, Firth Street, Huddersfield, HD1 3BD or visit for regional drop off centres.

The Little Group are also looking for businesses to register as a drop off centre, so please visit and one of the Little Group staff will be in contact.

The Little Group team will be delivering the gifts to care homes on 23rd December and would kindly ask that all donations are made 20th December.

Stacey added ‘We would like to extend our thanks in advance to anyone who donates to the Gift for Granny appeal and wish everyone a very Happy Christmas’
