Residents at the Queens Meadow care home are preparing for Christmas with a whole host of exciting activities this December – including a fabulous festive meal together at local restaurant the Travellers Rest, a coffee morning with mince pies for friends and family and a carol service performed by the Oxford Road Baptist Church.
Staff at the Hartlepool care home, on Stockton Road, which houses up to 59 residents including those suffering from dementia, say there is a ‘little something for everyone’ in the busy Christmas schedule – with plenty of opportunity for the local community to join in the celebrations.
Home Manager Julie Armstrong said: “This is such a fantastic time of year with so much going on across the home. With meals out, performers scheduled, carol services taking place and coffee mornings booked there is something for everyone in any given week!
“It’s important for us that our residents feel festive and enjoy Christmas, and we love engaging with the local community and welcoming friends and family in to our home.
“The resident’s meal at the Travellers Rest was particularly popular this year and everyone is really looking forward to family coffee morning with home baked mince pies on the 20th.”
