Glen Care, the specialist care provider, has appointed experienced psychiatrist Marcin Flirski. He will be working at the London Autistic Spectrum Centre (LASC) in Anerley and the London Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre (LTRC) in Croydon.
After completing his training in his native Poland Dr Flirski worked as a Specialist Doctor in Psychiatry at the Department of Psychiatry, Medical University of Lodz, earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Psychiatry.
He has many years clinical experience both in inpatient psychiatry and outpatient and community psychiatry. Dr Flirski has also participated in several research and clinical trials, published a number of clinical articles and has spoken at a number of international conferences.
Following a six-figure investment in the LASC, based in William Booth Road, Glen Care opened the new service to address the shortage of appropriate high quality care and support placements for young adults with Autistic Spectrum Conditions in London and the South East.
The LASC will aim to repatriate some of the many young people from across the area that have been moved away from their own communities due to the lack of available services locally.
The LTRC is a 34-bedded low secure hospital providing care, treatment and rehabilitation for male and female patients.
Gordon Phillips, chairman of Glen Care said: “We are building an excellent clinical team at our hospitals to ensure that Glen Care offers patients the best possible care, treatment and outcomes.
“Dr Flirski will be a valuable addition to that team and will bring experience, skills and a new perspective.”
Dr Flirski said: “This is an exciting time to be joining a progressive healthcare specialist with an excellent reputation in the sector and exciting plans for the future.
“I am looking forward to working with the team and the patients to build on the range of treatment and services offered.”
