Alzheimer’s Society Ambassador Lynda Bellingham Receives OBE

Lynda-Bellingham-Receives-OBEActress and Alzheimer’s Society Ambassador, Lynda Bellingham, has received an OBE from Prince Charles for her charitable work.

Lynda Bellingham, who is best known for high profile roles including At Home with the Braithwaites, Calendar Girls and being a presenter on ITV’s Loose Women, has spoken out frequently on behalf of people with dementia and their carers. Lynda and her family cared for her mother who had dementia.

Jeremy Hughes, Chief Executive of Alzheimer’s Society, said:

‘I am delighted that Lynda has been honoured for her outstanding contribution to charity. For many years she has shown great commitment to raising awareness of dementia and breaking down the stigma that shrouds this condition. From speaking about her personal experience on TV and radio to helping raise much needed funds at one of our memory walks, she has helped us make a huge difference to the lives of people with dementia and carers.’
