Akari Care Invests In North Walsham Care Home

Felmingham Old Rectory, which is based in Felmingham, North Walsham, is undergoing a major refurbishment as part of Akari Care’s £12 million investment programme in its homes throughout the UK.

The home will benefit from a re-decoration both internally and externally to improve the environment for residents and visitors.

Communal areas and some of the residents’ personal spaces will be re-decorated to make the surroundings more relaxing and appealing, with all lighting being upgraded, new carpets fitted and furniture, curtains and soft furnishings replaced.

In addition, two bathrooms are being fitted with fresh new suites to make bathing more comfortable for residents.

Externally, the car park and driveway will be resurfaced, with boundary fencing replaced and a number of trees pruned to help create more light in the bedrooms.

Located on Aylsham Road, Felmingham Old Rectory provides residential care for up to 36 elderly residents.

Akari Care aims to maintain lifestyles as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home, with an extensive range of activities which individuals can enjoy and benefit from.

Tracey Warnes, Manager at Felmingham Old Rectory, said: “The environment of a care home is so important to the well-being of the residents. Quality is at the heart of everything we do and that includes the environment of our homes and we like to keep them as fresh and comfortable for our residents as possible.

“Everything is geared towards achieving positive outcomes for the people who live in our home and every effort has been made to ensure that our residents cope well with the refurbishment work. This major investment will make a real difference and we are looking forward to seeing the finished home soon.”
