Stretches for the arms, legs and shoulders, leg raises, circling ankles and other mobilising movements were used. They also passed a ball around in a circle while dancing to 60s music.

Resident Ronald Sumpter said: “That was different and a lot of fun.”

Lynn Chapman, home manager at Bannatyne Lodge Care Home, said: “The free taster session from Pulse Health, Fitness and Wellbeing was fantastic.

“We will definitely be looking to book further sessions as there were so many benefits for the residents and the staff really enjoyed it too. There was lots of smiles and laughter, as well as increased mobility and lucidity among the residents. The instructor, Anthony Conroy, bonded with the residents on their level and made the afternoon fun for everyone.”
